Pain Management
What Can a “Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner” do For You and Your Pet?
Dr. Zinderman is a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner through the International Veterinary Association of Pain Management. The IVAPM’s certification process is thorough and ensures veterinarians are trained to assess & manage your pet’s pain in a comprehensive way. This may include laser therapy, hydrotherapy, acupuncture, and pain-relieving drugs in any combination.
Pain management techniques can be used whether your pet is living with a painful condition that requires life-long pain management, or recovering from an injury/surgery which only requires a few months of management and rehabilitation. Dr. Zinderman will create a plan tailored to your pet’s needs, using treatments that are best suited to their health.
Information on pain symptoms, assessment & treatment for our pet’s can be found in many places online. We recommend you explore the IVAPM website to learn if your pet’s symptoms are caused from untreated pain, and what you can do to help them. Some helpful pages include:
If you believe your pet is experiencing pain, please call Comfort Care Veterinary Services and we will assess your pet’s pain using a “Quality of Life Scale” and then work with you, and your regular veterinarian, to develop a pain management plan.
